We're a band from the greater Fort Myers, FL area. Indie americana? Alternative alt-country? Neo country soul? Roots pop? You can take your pick. We just like playing music.
Prior to forming the True Born Sons, Gina Hendershot performed on her own and with local bands such as Yard Sale. She drew the attention of the local music community with her traditional country croon balanced by her inventive lyrics and genre-melding.
Cementing our current lineup in the Spring of 2009, the diverse musical backgrounds of each member have further augmented Gina's songs. Elements of traditional country music can be heard alongside 60's pop and soul, all with a strong under-current of indie rock and pop.
We recently released our first full length record, Without Sustenence.
